In general, Chinese New Year is one of the most exciting and happiest times of the year especially for a multicultural country like MALAYSIA. During this holiday season, all Malaysian, especially those of Chinese origin, join in to visit one another and generally have a wonderful time together. The thing that i hate the most is most of the streets in town will be in a pin drop silent!! My mother celebrates all festival. Not that she buys new cloths for Hari Raya and Chinese New Year but she cooks a little bit more than usual. She loves doing that. But for me its a day for me to either sleep or stick myself in front of the Television.
This year, for me, its as usual but slightly different as God showered his blessings in a form of rain drops, but its kind off overwhelming i guess. He made our small, little, green but peaceful town go crazy. My town was flooded!!! So, most of them, as in those who escaped from being a victim, basically were lying under the comfy blankets as the weather seems to be so cozy. A hot chocolate drink will go really well. Heaven!!
But for the ones who were the victims of nature, they were going haywire as they were hectic saving their belongings. I was indirectly a victim too as my estate, the place that have experienced all my sorrows and my laughter together with me for twenty three years, was flooded n all the roads were ruined. Basically, no vehicle could be seen for a week. The nature's 'violence' had destroyed the beautiful path to my sweet home and i could not use the path to go to a Cyber Cafe to accomplish my mission on handing in my assignments on time. So hereby, i would like to convey my apologies. "I'm very sorry, my dear respected lecturer. I was bound by the situation."
Besides that, i could not feed my eyes with our Chinese New Year's theme colour, red, that lies in the streets and houses of all those who are Chinese. I love red. Its a glorious colour that has different interpretation if surveyed among each individuals. For me, its a colour that portrays quarter of myself.
The most important thing is Prosperity Burger!! I'm very sure everyone is aware of what I'm saying here. It only around during Chinese New Year and I'm very sad to say that i still have not taste it, even once, up to this very moment, since its out in the market!! Its very devastating, for me, actually. But, i love Chinese food. They are so delicious. Mouth watering!! It could make our taste buds go crazy and craving for more.
So, Chinese New Year for me this year is quite memorable. Although it was all not in a happy kind off mood, still i manage to smile in sorrows. However, i am grateful to the Almighty that there was no any physical harms to my family members and my friends and at the same time i hope things will get better to those who are in trouble. May the Dragon year turns out to be a prosperous one. Happy Chinese New Year.
